Common questions
Straight answers about zero-capex solar and how a PPA works.
What is a solar PPA?
A power purchase agreement is a long-term contract to buy electricity. Funded Solar's project company funds, owns and maintains a solar system on your site, and you pay for the solar power you use at an agreed rate over 20 years.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. The system is funded by our own capital and co-investment partners through a project company. You pay only for the solar energy delivered to your site under the agreement.
How is the price per kWh set?
It's set per project, either as a discount to your grid rate or as a fixed price. Your proposal will show the structure and rate for your site. Savings are not guaranteed and depend on your site and tariffs.
Who maintains and insures the system?
We do, as the owner, for the full 20-year term. Qualified EPC partners design and install the system.
What happens at the end of the 20 years?
Ownership of the solar system transfers to you at the end of the term.
